Something small, magical, and rooted in community is sprouting soon in the Canyon Park neighborhood of Bothell, Washington.
Welcome to The Enchanted Trowel Little Free Library & Perennial Trade Station – a place where stories, seeds, ideas, and neighbors meet.
What Is the Enchanted Trowel?
At its heart, the Enchanted Trowel is a Little Free Library with a little extra enchantment. It is a neighborhood gathering point designed to foster connection, curiosity, and generosity through shared resources.
Here, you’ll find:
- Thoughtfully curated, high-quality books
- A welcoming “bring one, take one” philosophy
- A space built on trust, care, and community spirit
To make browsing easier and more accessible, the Enchanted Trowel website will feature weekly updates of current offerings, so you’ll know what’s waiting before you stop by.
What You Can Expect from the Library
✨ Curated Books
The Enchanted Trowel focuses on intentional selections; books meant to be read, shared, and loved. Please bring only usable books in good condition, ready for their next reader.
The Enchanted Trowel Digital Book Club
Once a month, we’ll gather online around a shared book selection.
- At least one copy will be available at the library the month it is offered. We highly recommend the King County Library Or Wanderlust Bookstore for additional copies
- The book may or may not live permanently in the box
- The real magic happens in the conversation
On the website, you’ll be able to:
- Discuss the current book
- Share reflections and favorite passages
- Suggest future reads
It’s less about homework, more about connection.
Rotating Monthly Treasures
In addition to books, the Enchanted Trowel will host rotating monthly collections, including:
- Vinyl records
- Puzzles
- Board games
Bring one, take one!
We kindly ask that all items be complete, usable, and ready for enjoyment; puzzles with all their pieces, games with all their parts, and records in playable condition.
The Penial Trade Station/Little Free Plant Stand (What’s That?)
This is a place to share and exchange plants and produce, because abundance is better when it’s shared.
You may find:
- Houseplants
- Divided perennials
- Extra seed starts
- Seasonal garden produce
As harvests allow, we’ll offer what we have, and neighbors are warmly invited to leave what they cannot consume themselves. No pressure, no perfection, just generosity rooted in soil.
A Place to Leave Your Mark
The Enchanted Trowel will also feature:
- A guest book to sign
- A space to journal thoughts about community, connection, and kindness
A few words, a sketch, a reflection—leave what feels right.
Gifts To and From the Hosts
We like to craft and woodwork, so you may sometimes find some extra goodies in the library for you to take home. They may include produce bags, tea towels or small projects. The hosts love to get mail in return like children’s art, a note or other thoughtful objects.
The Enchanted Trowel Little Free Library exists to build community one book, one plant, and one conversation at a time.
