If you’ve ever found yourself talking to your tomato plants, applauding a particularly handsome slug, or serenading your compost pile during a drizzle — you’re in the right place.

Here in the soggy heart of the Pacific Northwest, our garden thrives on whimsy, chaos, and a fair amount of caffeine. The gardener (mud on her knees and tea in hand) tends to both plants and ponderings. Her husband can usually be found sawing something, spinning vinyl, or philosophizing about Seattle sports teams. Gandalf the Wise and Charlie, our two Australian Shepherds, keep watch over the realm — part herders, part poets, and full-time mischief-makers.

Of course, no proper garden would be complete without its residents: Mildred and Gerald Witherspoon, our opinionated gnomes who never quite agree on pruning techniques, and Mr. Carson, the concrete frog butler who maintains decorum and tea service with amphibian dignity.
